The emphasis of the horse and pony program is on equine selection, nutrition, management, riding, recreation, fun, and horsemanship. Horseback riding provides an outdoor sports fitness program for physical, personal, and emotional development, including confidence building. The sport can develop into a life-long hobby or business. Projects are available for youth owning or having access to horses and to youth not having access to horses (horseless horse projects).
With the help of the South East District Horse Council, Region 2, we have put together the 1st Annual State Show Tee Shirt design contest! The winning entry will have their artwork featured on the official State Show Tee Shirt at the State Show in Lexington in September.
Please read the following rules and entry form closely and submit your design postmarked by May 11, 2012. The artwork will be posted on the 4-H Horse Website Home Page after May 15th. 4-H members will be able to vote for their favorite design and the design with the most votes will win.
