Point Youth in the Right Direction Point Youth in the Right Direction

The 4-H Shooting Education program uses shooting as a vehicle to help young people ages 9 to 19 develop life skills such as discipline, responsibility, and leadership.  The following shooting disciplines are offered to teach 4-H members these life skills:

  • Archery
  • Muzzleloading
  • Pistol
  • Rifle
  • Shotgun

Through these disciplines, youth learn firearm safety and basic marksmanship fundamentals.  To find out if there is a 4-H Shooting Education Club near you, follow this link to your local county Extension office http://www.ext.vt.edu/offices/index.html .
